Right around week two of living in the dorms, I noticed a new "feature" in the bathroom stalls: magazine clip-outs. At first you figure, "Psh, I'll read Seventeen magazine with my pants on, thank you very much." But then after several visits, you start to wonder, what was so interesting that someone felt the need to post it in this stall?
I've started reading them, and they're really not that interesting, really. It hasn't stopped me from reading them though... For some reason I like the activity of reading, happy chemicals circulate my brain when I do it, so I'm one of those people who get impulsive urges to spontaneously read the advertising and ingredients on shampoo bottles...
So, back to the "stall literature". The third stall has workout tips, which I find oddly amusing, because it seems like the person who posted them specifically cut out exercises capable of being performed within the stall: lunges on a stool and the like. And normally use the third stall, but today I realized that I had read everything in there. So now I'm using stall two, and guess what's in there? Horoscopes!
I wonder who posts them though. The RA? (probably) Or is it just some random person on the wing?
And why don't we post something practical in there? Like derivative or integral tables? I'm becoming an expert on worthless Cosmo advice and it seems like such a waste...
And now, being the theoretical prankster that I am, I've started coming up with ideas on what I could personally tape behind the stall door to startle people. At first I was thinking a scary Big Brother/cereal killer face, but now I'm trying to be more creative. Our outside wing has a pigeon problem, so maybe a picture of a pigeon that looks like it has rabies?
I'm not even sure the best time to do it: predictably on April fools or sadistically during finals week? And when would I get the nerve?
Anyway, it's time for me to get back to my physics lab report. It's due tomorrow and I'm hating every minute of it. At least half of it is mindless typing; mindless typing is so relaxing...
